**::Supplies Here::**

Before I get you started = I've included the champagne glass/bubbly and the fireworks separately (Separate Graphics folder) if you'd prefer to place them into your creation - your way.

If you choose to create from your own background : know that the portion of the background for the fireworks - must be very dark.

From here on, I'll be working with the premade .psp frames {raeTinyBubbles.psp} with the champagne glass and fireworks already added to their place.

You'll start at Step #2, once your background is ready..though you will want to pick a frame of your animation - showing where the firework flares begin their ascent

1. At Animation Shop :

  • copy Frame #8 of your 'raeTinyBubbles.psp'
  • Open PSP and Paste as a New Image

I had you take that frame so that you could use your text placement - to have it appear that the fireworks originate at your text, if you like.

2. Remain at PSP : We'll make a border - to become our decorated frame

  • Image > Add Borders

I chose this width.. add what you like :

Take your Magic Wand and click into the border :

  • At your Layer Palette > Right Click at 'Background' > Promote Selection to Layer
  • Keep Selected
  • Flood fill with the Gradient or what you prefer :

You may want to change the Angle and Repeats to your liking

Then we'll add an Inner Bevel :

  • Select None

We'll leave it for now and decorate it after we do the bubbly text thing.

3. Now we'll begin adding the text :

  • At your background > Add a New Raster Layer - named 'Text1'
  • At Text1 > Add a New Raster Layer - named 'Text2'

Open your Text Tool > Set the Styles :

Text Tool settings :

  • Font > 'Billo'

You may want to do one word at a time and move it into place as you go - to conserve and make the best use of space.

  • Highlight 'Text1' layer  > add your text > All Smaller Case letters

Once you have your text placed as you want it :

  • Select none

  • Change your Materials > Foreground to the lighter champagne color = #EFEEE2  *you're only adding the outline now, to this layer
  • Background > Null

  • Change your Text Stroke to = 2

  • Highlight 'Text2' layer

  • Apply the same text, one word at a time > while it's still selected (marching ants) > Move it over the existing text - aligning it as precisely as possible, so that no dark background shows through.
  • Zooming In will help!

  • Once you have it all finished > Select None

4.  We'll add some large and multi-sized champagne bubbles over the 'openings' at those letters, such as = a, b, d, g, etc.

  • At 'Text2' layer > Add a New Raster layer named = 'Tubes'

  • Choose the 'ChampagneBubble' image from the supply folder
  • File > Export > Picture Tube > Default settings > name it and Save

  • Open it with the Picture Tube Tool
  • Set the Scale = 95  .. other settings at Default

  • At the 'Tubes' layer > place a bubble centered at each larger hole
  • Again, Zooming In makes this easier

  • Change the Scale to = 80
  • Place a bubble over the 2nd largest holes

  • Change the Scale to = 40
  • Place bubbles over all the lesser-size holes

If you'd like to add some drop shadowing to these bubbles, follow these directions :

  • Highlight 'Text2' layer > Add a New Raster layer named = 'Drop Shadows'

  • Return to the 'Tubes' layer
  • Selections > Select All ..  Selections > Float

  • While selected > Highlight the 'DropShadows' layer

  • Apply this Shadow :

  • Keep selected and on same layer > apply this shadow :

  • Change the Blend Mode at the Drop Shadow layer to = Luminance **Important that you change the Mode = so that the bubbles floating at the text will show through more realistically

  • Select None

5.  Now we'll take a moment to decorate the frame ..  It's your choice of what you use.  This is what I chose :

  • Preset Shape Tool > Symmetric Shape > Star

  • Highlight the Frame layer *we made earlier

  • Pull open a star shape to your choice of size *the Shape will make it's own Vector layer

  • Use the Object Selector Tool to Rotate and Resize, if necessary, your shape

  • pull open another smaller Star shape..  and another..  move and resize as you like
  • here's mine :

Once you have a pleasant group of stars :

  • Right Click at your Vector layer / Layer Palette > Convert to Raster

  • Duplicate
  • Image > Mirror

  • Duplicate
  • Image > Flip

  • Duplicate
  • Image > Mirror

Now Turn OFF all other layers > Merge Visible your Star layers

  • Turn the Off layers back to ON

Let's have a lil fun!  ..experiment with this, if you'd like to

  • Duplicate your Merged layer

At the Copy of Merged layer :

  • Move it to be aside of the under-layer..  whatever looks good to you

  • at the same layer > Adjust > Hue and Saturation > Colorize :

Choose what color suits you..  I chose this blue :

 6.  Now we'll begin floating the champagne bubbles!

Other than simply make a 'floatie' for you to fill these letters with - I thought I'd show you how I made mine.  From this tut, you'll know how to use any pattern you can imagine, and create a simple animation with it!  As well, you can rotate a pattern as you 'floatie' it.. the possibilities are endless and the resulting animations quite interesting and Unique!!  Try it one day... for now.. back to work!

Copy the 'FloatingBubbles.psp' :

  • Highlight 'Text1' layer > Add a New Raster layer named = 'Floaties'
  • Paste as a New Selection > position the floaties just at the very top edge of your uppermost text

  • Select None

6.  Turn OFF the background layer :

  • Highlight the Text1' layer
  • Selections > Select All  ..  Selections > Float
  • Selections > Invert

  • Highlight the 'Floaties' layer > Hit DELETE at your keyboard
  • Select None

  • Merge layers visible

Click the Merged layer at your Layer Palette > pull off into your Workspace and Release > it will make it's own canvas/image

Return to your Merged layers :

  • Undo till you have all the bubbles back - covering the image _ but the text is still selected and Inverted
  • **undo just until you see ALL the bubbles ..  when they appear and your text has marching ants

Open your Mover Tool :

  • Make sure you're on the 'Floaties' layer

  • At your Directional Arrow Keys / your keyboard > click UP 3 times
  • **PSP8 users = Select your Deformation Tool instead of the Mover..then use the Directional Arrows

  • Hit DELETE at your keyboard

  • Select None

  • Merge Layers Visible

  • Left Click on the Merged layer/Layer Palette > drag over to your previously dragged layer/new canvas

Undo till you, again, have all the bubbles back but just to when they appear and the text is selected

  • Still using the Mover Tool > Floaties layer > Arrow Keys UP 3 clicks

  • Floaties layer > DELETE at the keyboard

  • Select None

  • Merge Visible

  • Left Click on the Merged layer/Layer Palette > drag over to your new canvas

Do this same procedure three more times..  3 clicks up each time

Your new canvas should have a total of 6 layers at the finish.

When you have 6 Raster Layers at your New Canvas > Save As a .psp image

7.  yay!  we're nearly finished..  go over to Animation Shop

  • Open your newly saved .psp image

  • Edit > Select All  .. Edit > Propagate Paste

  • Select your 'raeTinyBubbles.psp' frames *with the fireworks and champagne glass

  • Edit > Select All

  • Animation > Animation Properties > Canvas Color = choose Opaque
  • select any bright color..  it will fill the border and will be your guide for the next step

8.  Right click at the first frame of 'raeTinyBubbles.psp :
  • Paste into Selected Frame = the Text and decorated frame
  • Position so that none of the bright color shows through at the inside frame
  • Click to set into place

That's it!  .. play your lil beauty

Happy with it?  good.. now Resize.

Unfortunately this animation is a Hog!  So, I resized :

File > Optimization Wizard :

whew!  ok..

thank you for giving this tut a go!  I hope you enjoyed it
