1. PSP ~ You'll notice 8 Named layers that are empty (from the top-down)... and 4 layers that are Turned off. Leave them Off and the transparency settings as they are, for now.
You'll use the empty, named layers for your text (if you choose to add text).. and for your name.
** You must use the layers as directed or the special effects won't work**

If you want to use the Edgar Allen Poe quote, from 'The Raven' :
Copy the following *include the quotation marks

Highlight 'TextWhite' layer :
- Paste the Poe passage into the Text Entry window

- *I used the space bar to arrange the text before applying :
- Or.. you can use the Selection tool/rectangle to move portions of the text where you'd like
-
- **you'll want to keep in mind - leave some room near the raven head - so he isn't swallowed by text
2. TextWhite layer > Select All/Float
- While floating = Highlight the 'TextShadow' layer

- Drop Shadow Black :
-
- Still floating = Highlight the 'TextGlow' layer
-
- Drop Shadow > same numeric settings > Color #99CBF7
-
- Select None
3. Highlight the 'NameWhite' layer :
- Open your Text tool = Text Size your choice - to fit into the space :
Move it as needed.
When you have settled on your text placement :
- Duplicate Vector layer
-
- Highlight the initial vector layer > Convert to Raster
-
- Select All/Float
-
- Copy
-
- Highlight 'NameWhite' layer > Paste Into Selection
While Floating =
- Highlight 'NameShadow' layer
-
- Apply Drop Shadow - Black :
Still Floating =
- Highlight 'NameCutout' layer
-
- Apply Cutout - Black :
Deep breath, I know this seems confusing! Hang with me, it will work out.
- Select None
-
- DELETE the 'Raster 1' layer (converted from Vector)
-
- Highlight 'Copy of Vector' layer
- Open your Object Selection tool
-
- Click into your Name at the canvas = it will show the vector box/nodes
-
- Material Palette = swap materials
>>
- change the Foreground to #99CBF7
-
- Background = Null
- Duplicate the 'Copy of Vector' layer
-
- At the initial 'Copy of' layer > Convert to Raster
-
- Select All/Float
-
- Copy
-
- Highlight 'NameGlow' layer > Paste Into Selection
-
- Select None
-
- DELETE 'Copy of Vector' layer
Almost done with this confusing stuff!
- Highlight 'Copy 2 of Vector' layer

- Again, open your Object Selection Tool
-
- If your text at the canvas doesn't show it's vector nodes - click into it
-
- Material palette
- change the Foreground to lightest grey = #C0C0C0
- Background = Null
-
- Convert to raster
-
- Select All/Float
-
- Copy
-
- Highlight 'NameOutline' layer > Paste Into Selection
-
- Select None
-
- DELETE 'Copy 2 of Vector' layer
Phew!.. ok.. it's a cake walk from now on
One little thing.. notice your text is White? If you know my tuts = you know we haven't used a Blend Mode, per usual.
- Highlight 'NameWhite' layer
-
- Change Blend Mode to 'Exclusion'
4. Open your Selection Tool :
- Highlight 'NameGlow' layer
-
- Draw a rectangle from bottom to about here =
- Keyboard = DELETE
-
- Select None
5. Ok!! the hard stuff is over *Yay!
- Turn OFF 'NameGlow' layer
-
- DELETE 'RavenGuide' layer
-
- Turn OFF 'TextGlow' layer
-
- Merge Visible
-
- Drag Merged layer off palette and drop into open workspace to create a new image
- *or .. Copy/Paste as a New Image
-
- Return to your work layers
-
- Undo the merge
6. Turn ON :
- 'BlueWindows' layer = transparency at 64
-
- Merge Visible
-
- Drag to your new canvas or Copy/paste as a New Layer = Raster 2
-
- Undo
7. Turn OFF :
Turn ON :
- 'NameGlow' = transparency 54
-
- 'TextGlow' = transparency 54
-
- 'GothGlow' = transparency 54
-
- 'WindowGlow' = transparency 54
-
- 'Lightning' = transparency 34
-
- Merge Visible
-
- Drag or Copy/paste to the new canvas
-
- Undo
8. Leave 'TextShadow' OFF
- Slide ALL layers transparency to 100%
-
- Merge Visible
-
- Drag or Copy/paste to the new canvas
9. Select your new canvas = with your 4 Raster layers
- Duplicate Raster 1 ~ pull it up the palette = overtop Raster 4
-
- Duplicate Raster 3 ~ pull it overtop Raster 4
-
- Duplicate Raster 4 ~ pull it overtop Copy of Raster 3
10. Animation Shop ~
- Browse to Open your saved PSP file
-
- Select Frame #1
- Duplicate to three more frames ~ 10 frames Total
-
- Select Frame #10
- Duplicate to 22 frames Total
-
- Edit > Select All
11. Open 'RCRaven' from tut supply :
- Edit > Select All
-
- Right click > Copy
-
At your 22 frames Gothic :
- Right click > Paste Into Selected Frame
.. he has the Perfect Perch here
12. You only need to change two frames Display Time :
- Select Frame #1
- Right click > Frame Properties > Display Time = 100
-
- Select Farme #17
- Right click > Frame Properties > Display Time = 100
13. Resize .. I brought mine down 85% ~ Bicubic
14. Optimization :
- File > Optimization Wizard :
Play your masterpiece 
..then come show it off to the Group!
