Cell and Settings info for the 'raeEasterGrass' for you not using PSP9 :
This should be a very easy tut for you! You got lucky - I was going to have you create the animation but ran short on time, so it's now supplied to you. The Eggs are premade into an Alpha, as well. They are multicolored/marbled.. it is coincidence that 'rae' came out in all blue eggs (tag example)...yours will be more diverse.
Begin by Opening these files at PSP :
1. Select each 'raePeep' > Copy, one at a time
Now use the Selection Tool and surround the 'raeAlphaEggs' you want to use
Once you have everything copied and pasted to your base, on it's own layer :
**notice the 'chick' is looking down.. you'll want it to be looking at least one 'Peep'
Heres' mine *resized for screenshot :
**notice I have the AlphaEggs staggered = some behind/in front and all that..
If your canvas/background is way larger than your Egg text :
2. Now you have all your items placed and on separate, named layers.. right?
I hope so because you're going to place some shadows between the eggs.. and some grass. .. on their own layers, of course
Open your Picture Tube tool :
here's mine *resized :
3. Now = you'll want to take your time..
Use your Mover Tool to click on an Egg or two that are at the 'front' = add a New layer under and place grass so that it divides the eggs a bit ..
Then add a New Layer at the very top of the palette for Grass .. go around your and add the Grass tube as you need...being careful not to obliterate everything in your path! Find a pleasing and light splash of grass... you can always add more later, if needed.
here's mine - added two grass layers :
4. Now we'll add some slight shadowing to the eggs :
Paintbrush
#1B6D21
**softly apply a stroke of shadow to the eggs - try not to shadow out the letter bottoms
<< use just the edge of the brush ..shadow bottom/right
<<the light source is above/left ..
***You can apply a bit of shadow under the peeps (at the layer underneath).. but forget doing it on the peeps, themselves.. it's too garish and isn't needed.
5. Highlight the 'Green base' layer :
6. Highlight the 'Green base' layer > Add a New Raster layer
7. Go to the topmost layer at your Palette :
Turn both Merged layers and Chick Guide layer ON.
**If you don't care to add a greeting to your tag = DELETE the Chick Guide layer and skip to Step 9
***If you don't care to add the animated chick to your tag = do not Delete the Chick layer : merge layers now and continue with a greeting..or save as a Jpeg and call it Finished
8. To add a greeting :
9. Open Animation Shop > Browse to Open the 'raeChick.mng' file
Return to PSP :
Return to PSP > Copy the Top layer from your Palette
10. Ok, now we'll put it all together.
If you like, return to PSP, first = Merge your layers, Copy / paste to AS - as a guide for your placements of the chick and top layer.
Select the 14 Frames of your Tag
Select the Single frame (your top layer from PSP)
11. You're nearly finished.. but you have to set the Frame Speeds
This is easily done if you Zoom Out both the Chick.mng and your tag frames .. maneuver to set the Chick frames above and your tag frames below = so you can see the frame speed numbers at both sets of frames
Follow, precisely, the frame speeds at your 'Chick' as a guide for your Tag frames - those that need to be changed from 10
Now Resize your tag, if desired .. *Bicubic
The Optimization for this tag isn't the best (the gradients are the culprit and why I prefer the static tag).. please use my Optimization, following, for the best result :
File > Optimization Wizard :
You're finished!
Thank you for trying this tut.. I hope you had fun
