- 'raeGatekeeperBkgd' ~ Open at PSP
- 'rae2Ghosts' Šrae ~ Open at AnimationShop
- 'Doctor_Terror.ttf' ~ download HERE ~ Open and minimize
- 'Ufrayd.ttf' ~ the first font I used when creating this tut.. your decision on which to use (Ufrayd or Doctor_Terror)
1. PSP ~ at the 'GatekeeperBkgd' :
- Layer Palette ~ Duplicate 'raeGothFrame' layer
2. Highlight the 'GhostGuide' layer :
- Add a New Raster = named 'Mist'
- Open your Paintbrush Tool
- Paint a swath of mist from side to side ~ with a soft undulation

- Effects > Distortion Effects > Wave
- Duplicate
- 'Copy of Mist' layer = Image > Mirror
3. 'Copy of Mist' layer :
- Effects > Distortion Effects > Curlicues :
- 'Mist' layer = Curlicues again.. change Grid settings :
4. Now we'll add text ~
- At 'Copy of Mist' layer' = Open your Text Tool :
- Apply your text
- Use the vector nodes to adjust your text to fit = centered inside the mist
- Drop the Text layer Transparency to 60
- Duplicate the text layer

- Convert the copied layer to Raster

- Highlight the Vector text layer
- Using the Object Selector = pull the sides out a bit
- **I colored the text so you can better see what I mean**
| Before we go further ~ we'll make a guide for you to use at AS : - Turn OFF one of the Text layers
- Merge Visible

- Copy and Paste to AS
- Return to PSP and Undo the Merge

5. In the following Steps ~ We'll prepare everything for and at AnimationShop.
- Delete the 'GhostGuide' layer

- Copy the 'background' layer
- 'Paste as a New Animation' at AS

- Duplicate
- Select Frame #2
-
- Animation > Insert Frames > Empty :
- Edit > Select All
- Edit > Propagate Paste
6. Remain at AnimationShop ~
- Open 'rae2Ghosts'
- Select Frame #1

- Effects > Insert Image Transition = Fade :
- Select Frame #7
- Hold Shift = Select Frame #2 (*this will highlight that series of frames)
- Right Click > Copy

- Select Frame #1
- Right Click > Paste Before Current Frame

- Animation > Reverse Frames
-
- Select Frame #1
- Hold Shift = Select Frame #7

- Effects > Apply Image Effect = Stretch :
- Select Frame #8
- Hold Shift = Select Frame #14

- Animation > Reverse Frames
-
- Effects > Apply Image Effect = Stretch **Same settings

- Animation > Reverse Frames
-
- Edit > Select All
- Right Click > Copy
7. Remain at AS ~
- Bring up the 'background' frames *All frames should be selected
- Right click > Paste Into Selected Frame
- Position your ghost according to the Guide
8. Return to PSP ~
- Merge Visible

- Turn Off the newly Merged layer
- Turn these layers ON
- Merge Visible

- Turn ON the other Merged (text) layer

- Save As > Paint Shop Pro Image
9. Animation Shop ~
- Browse to Open your saved text/mist PSP image

- Select Frame #1
-
- Effects > Insert Image Transition = Fade :

- Select Frame #7
- Hold Shift = Select Frame #2 (*this will highlight that series of frames)
- Right Click > Copy

- Select Frame #1
- Right Click > Paste Before Current Frame

- Animation > Reverse Frames
-
- Edit > Select All
- Right Click > Copy
10. Bring up your background frames with the ghost animation (All frames should be selected) :
- Using your Guide as a visual =
- Right click > Paste Into Selected Frame
Play it! If you're happy with your placements ~ we're nearly finished. If you're not happy.. Undo and re-paste
12. Two more things before you Optimize ~
- Right click > Frame Properties = enter 15 at Display Time tab
- RESIZE = I brought mine down Bicubic = 80%
13. That wasn't so hard..right?!! ..
